Belmont Shore Youth Rugby Club is proud to Announce that this upcoming 2018 season we will have an All Girls Rugby program from the age groups of u14’s, u16’s and u18’s. This program is lead by our newest coaches to join our family Coach Emo Pula and her Husband Coach Ian.
We had the chance to sit and chat with our newest family members:
I played rugby for 5 years at Gonzaga University my college years in Spokane, Washington. After graduating I became the Head Coach for Gonzaga University Women’s Team for 4 years.
Ian was born and raised on a Rugby field. LOL!! He also played for Gonzaga University’s Men’s Rugby Team. He later became my Assistant for GU Women’s Team.
8 years ago I started the South Bay Spartans Girls Team with 5 girls, I have taken them to the state championships 6 times, to the Nationals 3 times. Now they have about 50 girls or more. Proud of what I started and was apart of!! I met amazing young ladies and parents. I have 9 girls in college right now playing Rugby.
2016 and 2017 I was the Head Coach for the Girls Northern California Regional All-Star. Ian was one of my Assistant. We won both years with my U16 and U18 girls beating the Southern California All-star Regionals in the mini-RAST.
2016 I was selected to be one of Griffins Girls All-Star Head Coach and took the team to Oregon for the Great Northwest Challenge with a great team of Coaches and TM with Ian as one of my Assistant coaches.
We look forward to starting a new girls program with Belmont Shore! I love that challenge and it’s always in my heart to share the sport that I love dearly with new athletes.
